(막 8:31) 그리고And 그he분께서 ‘사람의 아들이 반드시 많은 일들을 겪고, 원로들에게 그리고 수제사장들과 서기관들에게 거부되며, 죽임을 당하고, 사흘 뒤에 다시 일어난다는 것that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again‘을 그들에게 가르치기 시작하셨더라began to teach them.

(요 3:14) 그리고And 모세가 광야에서 뱀을 들어 올린 것같이as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, 똑같이 그렇게even so 사람의 아들도 반드시 들어 올려져야 하느니라must the Son of man be lifted up.
(요 12:34) 사람들이 그분께 답했더라The people answered him ‘우리는 그리스도께서 영원히 거하신다고 율법을 통해 들어왔노라We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever. 그런데and 어찌하여how 너thou는 사람의 아들이 반드시 들어 올려져야 한다The Son of man must be lifted up라고 말하느냐sayest? 이 사람의 아들은 누구냐who is this Son of man?’
(요 20:9) 왜냐하면For 아직 그들이 '그가 반드시 죽은 자들로부터 다시 일어나야한다he must rise again from the dead.'라는 그 기록the scripture을 알지 못했기 때문이었더라.
