[그것으로 말미암아 너희가 읽을 때에 그리스도의 신비에 대하여 내가 알고 있는 바를 깨닫게 되리라.(Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)](에베소서 3:4)

[악한 자들은 판단의 공의를 깨닫지 못하나 {주}를 찾는 자들은 모든 것을 깨닫느니라. (Evil men understand not judgment： but they that seek the LORD understand all things.)](잠언 28:5)

[그분께서 자신의 언약 곧 친히 천대에 이르기까지 명령하신 그 말씀을 영원히 기억하셨으니(He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.)](시105:8)

[너희는 그분의 언약 즉 그분께서 천대에 이르기까지 명령하신 그 말씀을 항상 깊이 생각하되(Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;)](대상16:15)

[너는 이 율법 책을 네 입에서 떠나지 말게 하며 밤낮으로 그것을 묵상하여 그 안에 기록된 모든 것에 따라 지켜 행하라. 그리하면 네가 네 길을 형통하게 하며 또한 크게 성공하리라.(This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein： for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.)](수1:8)

기억하라(remember). 간직하라(retain). 지키라(keep)

[지혜는 그것을 붙잡는 자들에게 생명나무니 그것을 간직하는 자는 다 행복하도다.(She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her： and happy is every one that retaineth her.)](잠3:18)

[훈계는 네 생명인즉 그것을 굳게 붙잡으며 그것을 놓치지 말고 지키라.(Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go： keep her; for she is thy life.)](잠4:13)

[아버지(다윗)도 나를 가르쳐 내게 이르기를, 내 말들을 네 마음에 간직하라. 내 명령들을 지키라. 그리하면 살리라.(He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words： keep my commandments, and live.내 명령들을 지키며 살라)](잠4:4)

[비뚤어진 입을 네게서 버리며 뒤틀어진 입술을 네게서 멀리 하라.(Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.)](잠4:24)

[이것은 네가 분별을 중시하고 네 입술이 지식을 간직하게 하려 함이니라.(That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.)](잠5:2)

[네가 만일 그것들(지혜로운 자의 말씀들)을 네 속에 간직하면 그것은 즐거운 일이니 그것들이 어울려서 네 입술에 꼭 맞게 되리라.(For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips)](잠22:18)

[그리스도의 말씀이 너희 속에 모든 지혜로 풍부히 거하게 하여 시와 찬송가와 영적 노래로 서로 가르치고 훈계하며 너희 마음속에서 은혜로 [주]께 노래하고(Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.)](골3:16)

[또 그분의 말씀이 너희 속에 거하지 아니하나니 이는 그분께서 보내신 이를 너희가 믿지 아니하기 때문이라.(And ye have not his word abiding in you： for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.)](요5:38)

[선포자는 애를 써서 받아들일 만한 말씀들을 찾았는데 여기 기록된 것은 올바른 것이요 곧 진리의 말씀들이로다. / 지혜로운 자들의 말씀들은 가시 채들 같고 집회의 스승들이 굳게 박은 못들 같나니 이것들은 한 목자께서 주신 것이니라.(The preacher sought to find out acceptable words： and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. / The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.)] (전12:10~11)

(골 3:14,) 이 모든 것 위에 사랑을 입으라. 사랑은 완전하게 매는 띠니라.(And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.)

(엡 4:3) 화평의 매는 띠로 성령이 하나 되게 하신 것을 힘써 지키라.(Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.)

(엡 6:14) 그런즉 서서 진리로 너희 허리를 동여매고 의의 흉갑을 입으며(Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;)

[원하건대 그분의 입에서 법을 받고 그분의 말씀들을 네 마음속에 쌓아 두라.(Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.)](욥22:22)

[내가 그분의 입술의 명령에서 돌이키지 아니하고 내게 필요한 음식보다 그분의 입의 말씀들을 더 귀히 여겼도다.(Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.)](욥23:12).

[내 아들아, 내 말들을 지키며 내 명령들을 네게 쌓아 두라.(My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.)](잠7:1)

[내가 주께 죄를 짓지 아니하려고 주의 말씀을 내 마음속에 숨겼나이다.(Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.)](시119:11)

[이 날 내가 네게 명령하는 이 말씀들을 네 마음속에 두고(And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart)](신6:6)

[그러므로 너희는 나의 이 말들을 너희 마음과 너희 혼에 두며 또 그것들을 너희 손에 매어 표적으로 삼고 너희 눈 사이에 붙여 이마의 표로 삼으며(Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.)](신11:18)

[또 그분께서 모든 사람을 불러 그들에게 이르시되, 너희는 다 내 말을 듣고 깨달으라.(And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand)](막7:14)

[나를 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 내 말들을 지키지 아니하나니 너희가 듣는 말은 내 것이 아니요, 나를 보내신 [아버지]의 것이니라.( He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings： and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.)](요14:24).

[그것들을 계속해서 네 마음에 묶어 두고 네 목에 매어 두라.(Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.)](잠6:21)

[그것들을 네 손가락에 묶으며 네 마음 판에 기록하라.(Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.)](잠7:3)

[[하나님]의 말씀은 살아 있고 권능이 있으며 양날 달린 어떤 검보다도 예리하여 혼과 영과 및 관절과 골수를 찔러 둘로 나누기까지 하고 또 마음의 생각과 의도를 분별하는 분이시니(For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.)](히4:13)

[주께서 내 마음속에 두신 기쁨은 그들의 곡식과 포도즙이 불어날 때의 기쁨보다 더 크니이다.(Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.)](시4:7)

[그의 마음속에는 그의 [하나님]의 법이 있으니 그의 발걸음은 하나도 미끄러지지 아니하리로다.(The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.)](시37:31)

[오 나의 [하나님]이여, 내가 주의 뜻 행하기를 기뻐하오니 참으로 주의 법이 내 마음속에 있나이다, 하였나이다.(I delight to do thy will, O my God： yea, thy law is within my heart.)](시40:8)

[우리가 그분의 명령들을 지키는 것, 이것이 곧 [하나님]을 사랑하는 것이니라. 그분의 명령들은 무겁지 아니하니라.( For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments： and his commandments are not grievous)](요일5:3)

[야곱이 라헬을 위하여 칠 년을 섬겼으나 그녀를 향한 사랑으로 인해 칠 년을 며칠같이 여겼더라.(And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.)] (창29:20)

[내 명령들을 가지고 그것들을 지키는 자가 나를 사랑하는 자니 나를 사랑하는 자는 내 [아버지]께 사랑을 받을 것이요, 나도 그를 사랑하여 그에게 나를 나타내리라, 하시니라.(He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me： and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.)](요14:21)
