(막 7:20-23) 그리고And 그he분께서 말씀하셨더라said, "사람에게서 나오는 것That which cometh out of the man 그것that이 사람을 더럽히느니라defileth the man. / 21 이는For 속에서from within 곧 사람들의 마음에서out of the heart of men 나오는proceed 것들이 악한 생각evil thoughts, 간음adulteries, 음행fornications, 살인murders, / 22 도둑질Thefts, 탐욕covetousness, 사악함wickedness, 속임deceit, 색욕lasciviousness, 악한 눈an evil eye, 신성모독blasphemy, 교만pride, 어리석음foolishness이기 때문이라. / 23 이 모든 악한 것들All these evil things이 속에서 와서come from within, and 사람을 더럽히느니라defile the man."

(벧전 5:5-6) ~~~ 겸손으로 옷입으라be clothed with humility 이는for 하나님God께서는 교만한 자들을 물리치시고resisteth the proud, and 겸손한 자들에게 은혜를 주시기giveth grace to the humble 때문이라. / 6 그러므로therefore 하나님의 강한 손아래서under the mighty hand of God 그분이 정해진 때에 너희를 높이시도록that he may exalt you in due time 너희 자신들을 낮추라Humble yourselves.

(빌 2:3/5) 그 어떤 것도 다툼이나 자만으로 행해지지 않게하라Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory. 오직but 겸손한 마인드로in lowliness of mind 각자가 상대방을 자기들 자신보다 더 낫게 여기라let each esteem other better than themselves. / 5 너희 안에 이런 마인드가 있게하라Let this mind be in you. 그것은 그리스도 예수님 안에도 있었던 것이니라which was also in Christ Jesus.

 

(롬 12:16) 서로를 향해 같은 마인드를 가지라Be of the same mind one toward another. 높은 것들에 마음을 두지 말라Mind not high things 오히려but 낮은 처지의 사람들에게 겸손하게 굴라condescend to men of low estate. 너희 자신의 자만심들안에서 건방을 떨지 말라Be not wise in your own conceits.

(갈 6:3) 이는For 만일if 어떤 사람a man이 자기가 아무것도 아닌데도 불구하고when he is nothing 자신이 무엇이나 되는 것으로 생각하면think himself to be something 그he는 자신을 속이는 것이기deceiveth himself 때문이라.

(사 10:15) 도끼가 그것으로 찍는 자를 대적해 자신을 자랑하겠느냐Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? 아니면or 톱이 그것을 켜는 자를 대적해 자신을 높이겠느냐shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? 이것은 마치 막대기rod가 그것을 들어 올리는 자들을 대적해 자신을 흔들려 하거나as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or 지팡이가 마치 자기가 나무가 아닌 것처럼 자신을 들어 올리려 함as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood과 같도다.

(대하 7:14) 만일If 내 이름으로 불리는 내 백성my people, which are called by my name이 자기 자신들을 낮추고shall humble themselves, and 기도하며 내 얼굴을 구하고pray, and seek my face, and 자기들의 악한 길들에서 돌아서면turn from their wicked ways 그러면then 내가 하늘로부터 듣고will I hear from heaven, and 그들의 죄를 용서하며 그들의 땅을 고치겠노라will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

 

(시 10:17) 주LORD님이시여 당신thou께서는 겸손한 자의 소원the desire of the humble을 들으셨나이다hast heard　～～～

(대하 32:24-25) ¶ 그 무렵에In those days 히스기야Hezekiah가 병들어 죽게 되어was sick to the death, and 주께 기도했더라prayed unto the LORD 그러자and 그he분께서 그에게 말씀하셨고spake unto him, and 그he분이 그에게 한 표적을 주셨더라gave him a sign. / 25 그러나But 히스기야Hezekiah가 자기에게 행해진 은혜대로according to the benefit done unto him 보답하지 아니하였더라rendered not again 이는for 그의 마음이 높아졌기his heart was lifted up 때문이었더라. 그리하여therefore 그에게 그리고 유다와 예루살렘에upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem 진노가 있었더라there was wrath.

(대하 32:26) 그럼에도 불구하고Notwithstanding 히스기야Hezekiah가 자기 마음의 교만에 대해for the pride of his heart 자신을 낮추었으며humbled himself 그와 예루살렘의 거주민들도 그와 같이 하였더니both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that 주의 진노가 히스기야의 날들에는 그들에게 임하지 아니하였더라the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

 

(대하 33:12-13) 그런데And 그가 고통 중에 있을 때에when he was in affliction 그는 주 자기 하나님께 간청하고he besought the LORD his God, and 자기 아버지들의 하나님 앞에서before the God of his fathers 자신을 크게 낮추었더라humbled himself greatly / 13 그리고And 그분께 기도하였더라prayed unto him 그러자and 그he분께서 그로부터 간청을 받으셨고was intreated of him, and 그의 간구를 들으사heard his supplication, and 그를 다시 예루살렘에 그의 왕국으로 데려오셨더라brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. 그때에Then 므낫세Manasseh는 주 그분이 하나님이심that the LORD he was God을 알았더라knew.

(고전 10:11) 이제Now 이 모든 일들all these things이 본보기를 위해for ensamples 그들에게 일어났느니라happened unto them 그리고and 그것들they이 세상의 끝들이 와있는 우리의 훈계를 위해for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come 기록되어 있느니라are written.

 

(롬 15:4) 이는For 전에 기록된 모든 것들이 다whatsoever things were written aforetime 우리가 인내와 기록들의 위로를 통해 소망을 갖도록that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope 우리의 배움을 위해for our learning 기록되었기were written 때문이라.

 

(딤후 3:17) 이것은 하나님의 사람the man of God이 모든 선한 일들에 철저히 갖추어져throughly furnished unto all good works 완전해지기may be perfect 위함이라.
